Tetris Challenge

Are you a wizard with tetrominoes? If you think you have the talent to tackle Tetris, this tournament is totally tempting. Players will compete in pairs playing the original version of Tetris.

Challenge Rules

  1. Students must be in good standing with grades and behavior as well has have parent / guardian to participate.
    • There is no cost or fee to participate.
  2. Students will compete in pairs in a single-elimination bracket style tournament.
  3. Each match will be five minutes.
  4. The first player to 100 lines completed is declared the winner.
  5. If no player reaches 100 completed lines after time is up the player with the highest score is declared the winner.
  6. If there is a tie after five minutes an additional over-time period of one minute is played. Over-times continue until a winner is declared.
  7. If a player loses the game due to blocks reaching the top level the other player is declared the winner.

Check out Speedrun.com for their list of top times! If you can complete 100 lines in less than seven minutes you are near the top 100 times!

Sign-up

Players can sign-up using this link: Tetris Challenge. Challonge.com account is required. You must be 13 years or older to sign-up for an account. If you are not, you must have parent / guardian permission to create an account. This account is free for the basic version. Usernames must be school appropriate.

Challenge Structure

Dates: November 27 and 29 from 4:30PM-6:30PM

Players must make arrangements to complete their matches on one of those dates. Players that cannot attend will forfeit their match.
